Alcatel 1 launches in the U.S. with Android Go

A new Android Go phone has arrived in the U.S.

The Alcatel 1 is now available from Amazon. The phone is being sold unlocked, and it's compatible with GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.

With Android Go, the Alcatel 1 comes with lightweight versions of Google apps that are designed to help save internal storage on the device. Other features of the Alcatel 1 include a 5-inch 960×480 display with 18:9 aspect ratio, a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of built-in storage. There's a microSD slot in there, too, if you'd like to add more storage to your phone.

The back of the Alcatel 1 is home to a 5MP camera (interpolated to 8MP) with 1080p video capture, while the front of the device offers a 2MP camera (interpolated to 5MP) with 720p video capture. Both cameras can take advantage of Alcatel camera features like Instant Collage and Photo Booth. Rounding out the Alcatel 1′s feature set is FM radio support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 2000mAh battery, and Android Oreo (Go edition).

With the launch of the Alcatel 1, customers in the market for an ultra-affordable Android smartphone have a new option. And since it's running Android Go, it'll make the most of its internal storage, leaving you more space for photos, music, and more.
