Nexus 5X & 6P Does Not Support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge Technology

After Qualcomm announced their Quick Charge 3.0 technology, many automatically assumed that Google would at least have supported QC2.0 on the Nexus 5X and 6P.

But according to the Nexus Help Forum, the Nexus 6P (and the Nexus 5X) does not support any of Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology, including QC2.0 and 3.0. The reason for this is the use of the USB Type C cable and connector not being compatible with the technology.

However, this doesn't mean the phone doesn't support quick charging at all. The Nexus 6P and 5X include a Type C cable and charger that does 3 amps over 5V. This allows the Nexus 6P to get seven hours of battery life with just a 10 minute charge and four hours for the 5X.

Both phones come with a Type C cable in the box.
