Asus CEO Jerry Shen recently spoke at a media briefing in advance of this week's IFA 2014 trade show and revealed the company's upcoming smartwatch device, the ZenWatch, would sell for less than $199. Shen also indicated the device will come with voice recognition for English speakers when initially launched in October. Chinese voice recognition will come later, hopefully before the end of the year.
Shen also revealed the ZenWatch would be capable of working alone or paired with an Android smartphone. He said pairing the device with a smartphone would enable additional functionality, but did not elaborate. Shen also revealed the device would come in one size only.
