Early last month we got our first look at Sony's IFA teaser invite, which alluded to the company's plans to show off new smartphones, televisions, speakers and even a new attachable lens that would follow up the QX10 and QX100. Now it seems that the first images of the new QX1 accessory have hit the net, thanks to Xperia Blog and Sony Alpha Rumors.

Like last year's QX models, the QX1 will certainly enhance your Android photo taking experience, but it won't come cheap. Pricing is said to start at 300 euros ($393.43), and that's just for the sensor. If you want the sensor and a 16-50mm lens, the price will jump up to 450 euros ($590.15).

That's right, the QX1 actually separates the image sensor from the lens this time around, allowing users to attach Sony's E-mount lenses that are currently used on its Alpha series of mirrorless cameras. It's also believed that the QX1 may utilize the same A6000 sensor found in the Alpha series.

Despite the fact that Sony isn't giving up on the QX series doesn't change that fact that this is very much a niche product and won't appeal to everyone, in large part thanks to its high price. What do you think of the QX series, interested in this latest member, if all the rumors related to it prove to be correct?
