The Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2, which are expected to arrive later this year, are some of the most anticipated devices of the year, and the rumor mill is hard at work trying to paint an early picture of what we might expect. Unfortunately for some, the results might not be what they were expecting. Thanks to a new report from VentureBeat, we're getting a look at what is believed to be the successor to last year's Pixel, the smaller of Google's 2016 flagship smartphones. The report mentions that the Pixel 2 will be manufactured by HTC, while the larger Pixel XL 2 will be put together by LG. As a result, the smaller Pixel 2 will apparently blend together some of HTC's recent features and omissions. That includes the bezels, which HTC has yet to minimize like other manufacturers have. As we can see from the image above, the Pixel 2 will have some sizable bezels above and below the display. This will be a different move from the Pixel XL 2, though, which will reportedly be manufactured by LG and feature minimal bezels. Additionally, as we've heard in the past, this latest report says that the Pixel 2 will have the ability to squeeze the sides of the phone to interact with the phone in some capacity. This is similar to HTC's Edge Sense, which debuted on the U11 earlier this year. The report points out a few things that Google will reportedly be leaving out of this year's flagship models, including a lack of a dual rear camera setup on either phone. We've seen this feature crop up in a number of different phones this year, but it looks like Google won't be going that route. Finally, the report also confirms that neither the Pixel 2 or Pixel XL 2 will have a 3.5mm headphone jack. It sounds like Google has tasked HTC will implementing only iterative upgrades to the Pixel 2 compared to last year's model. Are you already planning on picking up a new Pixel or Pixel XL this year?
