T-Mobile has had its ONE Unlimited 55 plan for quite some time, and it looks like Sprint is gearing up to launch its own similar option. Android Police reported on the upcoming plan change on Thursday. The new offering will be called Unlimited 55+, and it will allow customers that are 55 years or older to pick up two lines for only $70 per month. If a customer only needs one line, that will cost $50 per month. With that, they will have access to unlimited talk, text, and data, as well as a few other perks. Subscribers to the new plan will get unlimited hotspot usage, and Sprint is also including its Global Roaming service, which will allow customers to text and use 2G data speeds at no additional cost in 128 international markets. Now, for the finer details. Sprint is putting caps on the streaming content, which means the Unlimited 55+ will cap streaming video at 480p, music streaming hits the ceiling at 500kbps, and streaming games will only go up to 5Mbps. That aforementioned mobile hotspot? It is capped at 3G speeds. As far as comparisons go, it looks like T-Mobile's ONE Unlimited 55 plan is a bit better, as far as pricing and perks are concerned. It is noted in the original report that Sprint is planning on marketing this plan as a means to save money compared to AT&T and Verizon, while T-Mobile's name isn't tossed into the mix. Which makes sense, considering the pricing. The new Unlimited 55+ is said to launch on May 18. Android Match
