| The incoming Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are both going to feature a pair of front-facing cameras. Today, 9to5Google is reporting that those new cameras will include not only the oft-rumored facial recognition feature, but also bring to the table what is being called "super selfies". That new feature will be possible thanks to one of those cameras being a wide-angle sensor. In addition to the super selfies, the front-facing cameras will bring an even better portrait mode. The report also states that Google is planning on introducing a new facial recognition system with both handsets, but unfortunately it doesn't go into any major details there. Finally, the new smartphones will reportedly also ship with a new Visual Core chip which will offer additional functionality when the handsets launch to the public. There were no details provided on that chip, either. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL won't be the first smartphones to offer a wide angle lens in a front-facing camera. LG had the same feature dating back to the LG G6, for instance. But it will more than likely be a welcomed addition for future handset owners, especially those who find themselves taking selfies with groups. We've seen the Pixel 3 XL out in the wild, and the most recent report gave us plenty to look at with an unboxing photo and camera samples. We're still quite a ways from Google's expected October unveiling, though, so the rumor mill probably still has plenty to go over before then.
