NBC app gets Android Smart Lock support to make using your NBC Profile even easier

Passwords are a necessary nuisance in our modern digital lives: they help keep our accounts and personal data safe, but they're a hassle to keep track of and type out every time you need to log in somewhere. Android's Smart Lock for Passwords makes everything much easier by letting users automatically logging in on Android, as long as the password is synced to their Google account. Somewhat unfortunately, though, each app has to be updated to work with Smart Lock, so support isn't as ubiquitous as one could hope. Thankfully, many developers eventually do add support for Smart Lock, and the NBC app is just the latest one on that list.

The strategy board game 'Onitama' gets an Asmodee Digital release

Asmodee has been consistently sucking up a lot of properties in the board gaming world, and that has a few people worried since a single company owns so many great games. It most definitely has caused issues for smaller gaming shops that have trouble ordering their wares. But in the Android world, I have found little to be worried about as all of their digital translations have been fantastic. Not only are all of their games fairly monetized, but they also have a high level of polish that is difficult to match. Onitama is their latest game to be released on the Play Store, and it definitely holds to Asmodee's standards.

LG G7 (Neo) caught on camera at MWC 2018

LG wasn't a no-show at this year's Mobile World Congress, announcing the V30s ThinQ as well as the K8 and K10, but they weren't ready to officially announce their early 2018 flagship smartphone just yet.

Still, it appears that the G7 was at MWC this year, or at least what was originally meant to be the G7. The handset was caught on camera thanks to a journalist on the scene, and a video shows that it that offers a huge display (with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9) with minimal bezels, a pair of cameras on the back, and a fingerprint reader just below the rear cameras, which is exactly what we've come to expect from an LG-branded smartphone.

The LG G7 (Neo) features an OLED display which measures in at six inches and has a resolution of 3120×1440. There's a notch at the top of the screen, too, because that's the trend this year. Under the hood, the LG G7 (Neo) is said to boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor (which would line up with a previous rumor), 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage, and a pair of cameras on the back that are both 16MP shooters.

LGG7Neoleak

Around front there is an 8MP camera, and the battery is said to measure in at 3000mAh. One of the other key features in this handset is something called "Boom Box" which would reportedly send out more bass while audio is playing and the G7 (Neo) is set down on a surface. The handset also allegedly features DTS-X surround sound.

As noted today by Evan Blass over on Twitter, this G7 (Neo) may be the handset that the Life's Good crew scrapped in favor of the rumored flagship handset which is codenamed "Judy".

It's hard to argue that this device isn't a powerhouse in its own right, so it's interesting to wonder LG could be adding to the Judy.

What do you think of the LG G7 (Neo)?

Twitter officially launches Bookmarks, a place to save tweets for later viewing

As a fairly regular Twitter user, I often find myself scrolling through my timeline during br ief moments of inactivity (sometimes out of compulsive habit). Oftentimes, something will catch my eye, but I do not have time to follow through on it. If it's a link to an article, adding the webpage to Pocket is a quick enough process, but I'd like to go back to look at specific tweets sometimes, too.

Twitter launches Bookmarks to save tweets for later viewing

According to Twitter, having a quick and easy way to save a tweet to view for later without directly engaging with the tweet or the person who tweeted the content has been one of the most requested features for the social platform.

Last year, during Twitter's Hack Week conference, it announced that it was working on a bookmarking or "save for later" feature and that it would roll out the feature to the public when it was ready for mass consumption. That time has finally arrived, as Twitter has just announced that bookmarks are now rolling out.

Bookmarks are part of a new sharing feature built right into the Twitter platform for the official apps. Now when you view a tweet, you will see a new share option underneath the tweet. Clicking or tapping it will bring up several different options, including the ability to share the tweet via a Direct Message or to share it outside of Twitter. The final option is to privately bookmark it, which will let you view it later.

Up until this point, the only way to save a tweet to see later would be to either retweet it or like it. In both cases, the person that tweeted the original content would be made aware that their tweet was retweeted or liked. The bookmarking feature avoids this by skipping the direct engagement with the content. Users are simply saving it for later.

To view your saved bookmarks, just open the side-menu and there will be a new Bookmarks option. The saved tweets will be in there, ready to view in a nice, easy-to-digest list.

Bookmarks for Twitter is rolling out beginning today for the official Android app, as well as the iOS app, Twitter Lite, and on the mobile website.

What do you think of the new bookmarking feature?

SanDisk 400GB microSD card on sale at Amazon along with other microSD cards

If you're looking to expand the storage on your smartphone, tablet, gaming console, or other device, today's a good day to do it.

Amazon is now running a sale on SanDisk microSD cards. That includes the 400GB microSD card that launched late last year, making it more affordable to add nearly half a terabyte of storage to your mobile device.

This is a Class 10 400GB microSD card with transfer speeds up to 100MB per second. The card also meets the A1 App Performance Class spec, which should help to load apps faster.

If you want something a bit cheaper, Amazon is also offering discounts on smaller SanDisk microSD cards, like the 256GB and 200GB SanDisk models. There's no telling how long these deals will last, though, so you may want to act soon if you're interested in any of them.

The Honor 7X is Huawei's latest budget phone under the Honor sub-brand. The $200 smartphone features some impressive specs but unfortunately launched with Android 7.0 Nougat. Fortunately. the Android 8.0 Oreo beta has begun.

If you live in France, Germany, Italy, or Spain, you can download the beta version of Oreo with the latest EMUI 8.0 on top. All you have to do is install an APK, register for the beta, and pull the Oreo OTA.

Hopefully we'll see the beta program expand to other countries (including the US) so we can all experience Oreo goodness on a great budget phone. Hit the source link for the APK files and leave a comment telling us how you like it!

Chrono Trigger has been updated with new features to bring it up to date with the new PC release

Chrono Trigger has had quite the checkered past on Android. It originally released on the Play Store back in 2012. Later that year Android version 4.3 was released which broke the game. Square Enix left it broken until it was finally updated with a fix sometime in 2014. It has had a few updates since then, but none of them were of substance. The good news is that it appears Square Enix is finally showing some love to this classic JRPG since it was just updated with some new useful features in order to bring it in line with their newly released PC port.

Hangouts Chat, Google's messaging service for teams, is finally available [APK Download]

Almost a full year ago, Google decided to split Hangouts into two entities: Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat. The former became available pretty quickly, but the latter took its sweet time to arrive. Hangouts Chat is a messaging service for teams, much like Slack or Microsoft Teams, and it's free for current G Suite users.

Google actually had an Early Adopter Program for G Suite users who were eager to try Hangouts Chat out, but only now has the service gone live for everyone.

Cortana adds floating launch button in latest update [APK Download]

Even though Cortana can't match most of Google Assistant's functionality, it's still very handy if you have a Windows 10 PC. The app can mirror notifications to your PC, sync reminders, and provide contextual information based on your email and calendar. About a year ago, the Cortana app added an optional launcher to the lock screen, and now there's another way to open the assistant.

The latest update adds a new option, called "Cortana on Home Screen." It adds a floating Cortana button to your device, similar to a Facebook Messsenger chat head.
