| Sony is one of many companies that are going to be on hand at this year's Mobile World Congress, and the hype surrounding what they might have in store for onlookers has been swirling as of late. That has been aided by the fact that Sony executives have been talking up the new redesign for whatever new flagship handset they have coming down the pipe. Now, thanks to VentureBeat, we've got a first look at two handsets that Sony is going to officially unveil at MWC next week. The Xperia XZ2 (pictured above and below) and XZ2 Compact do indeed look like a bit of a departure from past Sony-branded handsets, even if they don't necessarily adopt a wildly different overall design. And there doesn't appear to be noticeably minimized bezels, either. The XZ2, which is the bigger of the two handsets, will boast a 5.7-inch 1080p HD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood. Around back there is a 19MP camera with a f/1.8 aperture and 4K HDR video recording. There are a pair of stereo speakers on the front which will feature a haptic feedback system that'll sync vibrations with sounds and a fingerprint reader on the back. The handset will also have a battery that measures in at 3180mAh, a USB Type-C port, and support for wireless charging. It will allegedly be running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. As for the smaller XZ2 Compact, that handset will allegedly feature a 5-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, a 19MP rear camera, a fingerprint reader, and stereo speakers, but without the haptic feedback system found in the XZ2 proper. The battery is said to be 2870mAh, and there is no support wireless charging. The XZ2 Compact will be running Android Oreo out of the box. Both handsets are expected to launch sometime in March, but specifics aren't known at this time. There is no word on pricing just yet, either. What do you think of Sony's two new phones?
