Remember last month when we heard that the unlocked HTC 10 had started receiving its Android 8.0 Oreo update? Turns out that that rollout didn't actually happen, but fast-forward a month and a half and the push has indeed begun. Owners of the unlocked HTC 10 are now reporting that they're getting Android 8.0 Oreo over the air. The OTA update is 1.3GB and includes Oreo as well as unspecified "system enhancements." With the update to Oreo, HTC 10 owners are getting new features like picture-in-picture, which will let them watch video from one app while using other apps. The update to Android 8.0 Oreo also brings with it features like notification dots, which will let you quickly see which apps have alerts for you on your home screen, and smart text selection. If you've got an unlocked HTC 10 in the US, keep an eye out for your Oreo update over the coming days. You can also check for it manually by going into your Settings app and then selecting About > Software updates > Check now. Android Match
