Samsung has a physical button on the side of its flagship smartphones that can launch its digital assistant, Bixby. Some folks don't mind it, others aren't a fan. Now it sounds like LG is ready to roll the dice with a similar idea. LG isn't building its own digital personal assistant, but CNET has a report that suggests that the upcoming LG G7 ThinQ will have a physical hardware button to call up Google Assistant. LG is going to unveil the upcoming flagship smartphone on May 2, and the new report would seem to line up with previous leaks of the handset. The report indicates that the Google Assistant button will be located on the left side, under the volume rocker. The power button will be on the right side and is visible in recent leaks. The report doesn't indicate whether or not future LG G7 ThinQ owners will be able to map the button to do other things. That's a particular feature that's not available on Samsung's Bixby button, so it will be interesting to see if LG changes that specific tactic. What do you think of the idea? Should the Life's Good crew include a physical Google Assistant button on the G7 ThinQ? Android Match
