BlackBerry Mercury Will Come With This Google Pixel Feature

TCL showcased the upcoming BlackBerry Mercury at CES 2017 in Las Vegas, while promising the handset will be launched at Mobile World Congress 2017 next month, in Barcelona, Spain.

While some of the specs of the device have already leaked online, WinFuture's Roland Quandt is now shedding more light on the matter.

We previously reported that the BlackBerry Mercury will arrive with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard. The device should take advantage of a Snapdragon 625 chipset in combination with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Well now we can tell you a bit about the Mercury's cameras. According to our leakster, the phone will take advantage of the same 12MP Sony IMX378 sensor (capable of 4K shooting) that is found in the Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

It remains to be seen how BlackBerry and TCL tweak the phone's camera software, but in theory we should see the device deliver Pixel-quality images.

Furthermore, we're told the Mercury will take advantage of a Samsung S5K4H8 or Omnivision OV8856 8MP camera sensor for selfie snapping.

Previous rumours also claimed the phone will launch with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and a 3,400 mAh juice box. Excited about the upcoming phone? Let us know in the comments below.
