Google Pixel 2 rumored to feature higher price tag, improved camera, and more

Some variants of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL are still hard to come by these days, but the rumor mill is already starting to turn things up when it comes to what's expected to arrive in the next iteration of the Pixel.

According to a report from 9to5Google, the Mountain View company is hard at work on building the next version of the Pixel, with a few key changes already being formulated. One of the major focal points for the next phone is its camera, with the report stating that the new phone's camera will "not have large MP size" but that it will instead "compensate in extra features." Moreover, Google is said to be making sure that it takes even better pictures in low-light situations, which is one of the major features of the original Pixel's camera.

The source of today's report says that Google has tested some models of the Pixel 2 with Qualcomm's "Snapdragon 83X" processor, while other units have been tested with Intel-made chips. MediaTek was apparently considered at one point, but apparently that is no longer the case.

An earlier rumor suggested the next-generation Pixel would have some type of waterproofing, and apparently that feature is "still on the table." Still, the report seems positive that Google will include waterproofing in the next Pixel.

All of these improvements could lead to a price increase, though. The report suggests that Google is considering hiking the price of the Pixel 2 "by at least $50″ when compared to the first generation. At the same time, Google is allegedly testing a "Pixel 2B" which could be priced much lower than the flagship model and include less powerful hardware. Google could be eyeing to release that device in international markets.

Well, based on these rumors, are you looking forward to the Pixel 2?
