ZTE is an up-and-coming Chinese device maker which is trying to make it into the Western market. The company's products have been pretty well received in the States, especially the Axon 7 flagship and its spin-offs like the Axon 7 mini. Well starting this week, the ZTE Axon 7 mini can be purchased in Canada as well. The handset is now available with Virgin Mobile for $399 CAD outright or $0 down on a Gold plan with a 2-year agreement. The ZTE Axon 7 mini is great smartphone which capable specs at a super affordable price tag. The handset takes advantage of a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 423ppi. The phone harvests power from a Snapdragon 617 chipset working in concert with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internals storage. Smartphone photography fans will love the Axon 7 because it comes with a 16MP main camera with EIS (electronic image stabilization) + PDAF (phase detection auto focus), f/1.9 and 1080p video capture at 30fps. The 8MP selfie camera shouldn't be ignored either. The Axon 7 mini runs on a non-removable 2,750 mAh battery and has Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed. However, ZTE has recently kicked off a Nougat beta plan for the Axon 7, which means the Axon 7 mini might get Nougat treatment at some point in the future too.
