Here’s Possible Evidence the Galaxy Note7 Disaster Wasn’t Caused by Batteries

Samsung's investigation into what caused the Galaxy Note7 disaster has been completed, but the results are expected to be revealed sometime towards the end of this month.

While we wait for Samsung to make the official announcement, a recent report related to the upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship sheds some light on what the verdict is going to be.

According to The Android Soul, the Galaxy S8 will take advantage of Samsung SDI batteries, the same which were suspected of causing the fiery Galaxy Note7 problems in the first place. During the initial investigation, Samsung said that the Samsung SDI batteries inside the phablet were to blame for the handset's overheating problems.

But as the replacement units powered by Amperex batteries started shipping out, customers noticed the same problems. So maybe, just maybe the batteries weren't the culprit after all?

The report says the Galaxy Note7 disaster was caused by some "strategic defect" but doesn't provide any other details. We guess we'll just have to wait for Samsung's official report, which will most likely say that batteries weren't to blame for the explosions.

There's no way Samsung would risk another calamity like the Galaxy Note7. The Galaxy S8 is meant to restore the Korean tech giant to its former glory, so the company will make extra sure the flagship doesn't come with any major defects. Fingers crossed, Samsung!
