Battery life is one of the trickiest issues when it comes to mobile phones. Most device manufacturers are striving to produce handsets that can offer longer life cycles, despite having to resort to things like removing the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Well what if we told you there's a phone that features a dual-battery pack? That's right, this device should provide you with enough juice that you won't have to get near the charging port for at least two days. Let us give you more details.

Obscure Chinese device maker, Gionee has unveiled the M2017 smartphone – a premium device with an interesting particularity.

The phone features a 5.7-inch display with 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution and relies on a Snapdragon 635 processor for power. Gionee also throws in 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage plus a main dual camera (12MP+13MP) plus an 8MP selfie snapper. Sadly the phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box

But the most interesting part is that the M2017 features two battery packs of 3,500 mAh capacity, amounting in total to a whopping 7,000 mAh. However, there's no microSD card slot or 3.5mm headphone jack.

While the Gionee M2017 might sound good on paper (although a Snapdragon 821 might have been more fitted), you most certainly won't like the price. The phone sells for a massive $1,368 CAD. The premium model which sports an Italian custom alligator leather back features an even more exorbitant $3,311 CAD price. Would you pay that much for a phone with a 7,000 mAh battery?
