HTC U12+ revealed in new images while full specs leak out

We have seen the HTC U12+ leak out a couple of times over the last couple of months, giving us a clear look at what HTC is sending down the pipe for an official reveal later this month.

Now serial leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) has taken to Twitter to steal some of HTC's thunder, revealing not only a trio of new images for the U12+ in three different colors but also showcase the flagship smartphone's full spec sheet.

The leaked images show a gray handset, a burgundy device, and a black model. We can also see the dual camera setup on the back along with a fingerprint reader just above the HTC logo. As rumors have suggested, the U12+ will have minimized bezels up front, and there doesn't appear to be a notch, either.

The specifications show another high-end smartphone heading to market, with a 6-inch Super LCD Quad HD+ display with a resolution of 2880×1440 and an 18:9 aspect ratio. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood, with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage (depending on region). The handset also supports a microSD card for expandable storage, and the battery measures in at 3500mAh.

Around back there is a 12MP UltraPixel 4 shooter with an aperture of f/1.75 accompanied by a 16MP telephoto camera with an aperture of f/2.6. These support optical image stabilization, "HDR Boost 2″, dual LED flash, bokeh mode, and more. Around front, there are a pair of 8MP cameras.

The HTC U12+ will support Edge Sense 2, which will not only let users control and launch apps, but also control Smart Dim and Smart Rotate by squeezing and holding the edges of the phone. Double-tap for a mini-screen to pop up for easy one-handed use is included, too, and it will also support customizable gestures.

Finally, the U12+ will be running Android 8.0 Oreo under HTC's proprietary Sense UI. HTC says the handset can be updated to Android P at a later date.

HTC will be unveiling the U12+ on Wednesday, May 23, so we don't have long to wait to get all of this information confirmed.

Are you looking forward to the launch of HTC's newest flagship?
