TCL will officially manufacture and sell BlackBerry devices

A partnership with TCL has already been in place with BlackBerry, seeing as the DTEK50 and DTEK60 devices use TCL's designs, but now everything is official.

Today BlackBerry announced that it has entered into a long-term licensing agreement with TCL Communication. With the agreement in place, BlackBerry will dole out its brand assets, security software, and service suits to TCL. With those things, TCL will manufacture, sell, and provide customer support for BlackBerry devices.

For what it's worth, BlackBerry confirms that it will continue to work on the software side of things, including security endeavors. TCL will simply be handling the hardware side of things.

This would effectively mark the end of BlackBerry's efforts in the smartphone manufacturing market, as it focuses primarily on software from here on out.
