Google Home can now play music through other Bluetooth speakers

Google has made it so that if you have a house full of Google Home smart speakers, you can get a pretty broad listening experience with each speaker. Not every house has multiple Google Homes, but they might have other Bluetooth speakers on hand.

Today Google announced that Google Home smart speakers can now connect to other, non-Google Home Bluetooth speakers and play music through them. It works with other audio content, too, including audiobooks and podcasts.

To get it to work, you will just need to connect your Bluetooth speaker to your Google Home by using the Google Home app on your smartphone and go through the standard pairing process. That will make it your default speaker. So you can then say something like, "Hey, Google, play the workout playlist" and it should start playing through the Bluetooth speaker.

To get a nice collection of Bluetooth speakers throughout the house, all of which will be able to play music at the same time, just create a new Group through the Home app.

The new feature is available now. How many Bluetooth speakers do you have in your house? Is this a feature you're going to take advantage of?
