Samsung investigating reports of unresponsive Galaxy S9 displays

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ recently launched, which means a lot of people have gotten their hands on the Samsung's newest flagship smartphones. Unfortunately, it looks like some owners are running into some issues with their new daily driver.

As was first reported recently by Android Police and PiunikaWeb based on reports shared on forums like Reddit and Samsung Support, there are reports of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ units with unresponsive touchscreens. For some owners the unresponsive area is at the top, while other owners say the bottom of their screens are not responding to any touch input.

It is worth noting that some of the owners of affected handsets were able to fix the problem with a factory reset of the device, while others were able to fix it by ramping up the touch sensitivity of the display directly. Still, it appears that the majority of issues haven't been fixed by these solutions.

Here is Samsung's official statement to Engadget:

"At Samsung, customer satisfaction is core to our business and we aim to deliver the best possible experience. We are looking into a limited number of reports of Galaxy S9/S9+ touchscreen responsiveness issues. We are working with affected customers and investigating.

We encourage any customer with questions to contact us directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG."

Have you or anyone you know run into this problem with your Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+?
