Xiaomi, like some other companies, decided to announce a new smartphone today. The Mi Mix 2S has been officially unveiled, featuring minimal bezels, a pair of rear cameras, and the latest and greatest when it comes to a high-end processor. Xiaomi did keep the design of the Mi Mix 2S similar to last year's Mi Mix 2, but has changed the important bits for the newest model. As for the specs, the Mi Mix 2S features a 5.99-inch display that boasts a resolution of 2160×1080, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of built-in storage. The handset has a fingerprint reader on the back, a USB Type-C port for charging, a battery that measures in at 3400mAh, NFC, face unlock, and Android 8.0 Oreo under Xiaomi's proprietary MIUI 9.5 user interface. On the back there are a pair of cameras. One is a 12-megapixel wide angle lens with f/1.8 aperture while the other is a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. The front-facing camera is actually located on the bottom bezel, and it's a 5-megapixel shooter. It's also worth noting that Xiaomi's rear cameras earned a score of 97 through DxOMark testing, which means it tied with cameras like the Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Apple's iPhone X. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will launch first in China on April 3. Potential customers can expect to pay RMB 3299 (about $525 USD) for the model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage or RMB 3599 (about $573 USD) for the 6GB/128GB variant. The high-end model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will retail for RMB 3999 (about $637 USD). Xiaomi says the Mi Mix 2S will launch globally, but doesn't go into detail as to when, or where, specifically, the new smartphone will be available. What do you think of the Mi Mix 2S? Android Match
