If you have a Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch, be prepared for a new software update. Samsung has announced a new update for its the Gear S2 which optimizes icons and widgets, all in an effort to bring general improvements to the overall user interface. It will also unify each screen on the smartwatch, and Samsung says all these changes should make the content on the round display easier to read.
On top of that, Samsung is also adding in what it calls a Quick Panel, which will let Gear S2 owners quickly change certain settings, including brightness, volume, and more. The Gear S2 will now include a Apps Shortcut widget, too, which will play house to your most-used apps and even let you select which apps display there. There are changes to the Samsung Health app as well, making everything easier to read at just a glance. The Gear S2 will be capable of controlling even more Samsung devices, including the Samsung Gear VR headset, and there is even a PPT Controller app that will let you control PowerPoint slides from your smartwatch and set a timer.
Last but not least, the Gear S2′s update brings with it weather updates for highs and lows, when sunrise and sunset will take place, wind chill, and more.
