Later this year, Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Note 9, the successor to last year's popular phablet. And now that the Galaxy S9 is official, the rumor mill has turned its attention to the next flagship smartphone from Samsung. The Korea Herald reports that Samsung is still working on in-display fingerprint sensor technology and that, despite some initial rumors to the contrary, it may have worked out the kinks to introduce the feature with the upcoming Galaxy Note 9. According to the report, Samsung is "seriously considering" including the in-display fingerprint reader and that the company has "three or four" options for including the feature. However, while Samsung might be moving in that direction, it has yet to make a final decision on the matter. That is expected to happen sometime this month. Companies like Samsung and Apple have been rumored to launch a smartphone with an in-display fingerprint reader for quite some time now. Samsung is still working on the feature if the rumor mill is to be believed, but it looks like Apple has given up on it and has fully adapted facial recognition with its Face ID technology. Vivo has already introduced a smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor, so we know the technology is possible.
