Oculus Go standalone VR headset launches today

If you have been in the market for a new virtual reality (VR) headset and have wanted to pick up an all-in-one offering, then Oculus might have one for you to consider.

Today during Facebook's F8 developers conference, the Oculus Go was launched to the masses in 23 different countries. The price starts at $199, which will get you the model with 32GB of built-in storage. If you want more storage, you'll need to fork over $249 for the 64GB model. You will also get a touch controller bundled with the headset, which is powered by a AA battery.

As for the specs of the Oculus Go, it boasts a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor under the hood, spatial audio, and there is an integrated microphone as well. Battery life is set around 2 hours for playing games, and about 2.5 hours when you're streaming media and video content.

Oculus has confirmed that there are over 1,000 apps for Oculus Go owners out of the gate. You will find Hulu and Netflix in the mix, along with plenty of games to choose from.

If all of that sounds good to you and you want to pick one up, you can do so from Amazon, Best Buy, Oculus, and Newegg. Who's picking one up, and which model are you going with?
