Hublot announces a $5,200 FIFA World Cup focused smartwatch running Wear OS

Hublot has announced a new smartwatch running the newly rebranded Wear OS, and it's an interesting one. Let's get this out of the way: It's set to cost around 5,000 francs, which is about $5,269 US dollars.

This is another entry into the luxury smartwatch market. Companies like Apple, TAG Heuer, and Movado have gotten into the game with some very expensive wearables, so it's not surprising to see another.

The thing that differentiates this new Hublot Big Bang Referee 2018 FIFA World Cup smartwatch is that, you guessed it, it's focused on the World Cup. It will warm you when games are starting, scores, and when yellow or red cards are used. Otherwise, it's just another Wear OS watch and can be used as such.

If you're a die hard football fan (soccer for us Americans), this is a great piece of memorabilia to commemorate the 2018 World Cup. The watch will be coming on May 1 and there will only be 2,018 made. You'll also see these watches on referees. It may very well become a collector's item in the future.
