Google Photos gets AI features, including document scanning

Google Photos is getting a slew of new AI features. At Google I/O 2018, CEO Sundar Pichai announced new features in Google Photos that are designed to simplify the lives of users. For example, Photos will analyze photos, recognize friends pictured in them, and suggest sharing those photos with the friend who is pictured. Suggested edits will also be a new feature, giving users tips on improving exposure and more. Photos can suggest that users dim and highlight color in photos, and can even colorize black-and-white photos. Perhaps in the most useful feature, Photos will be able to auto-convert photos of documents into easy-to-read PDFs, with just one tap from users.
