Google’s Gboard is getting support for Morse code

Morse code has been around for a very long time, and Google is implementing the communication tool right into its functional software keyboard.

Today during the Google I/O keynote, a new feature for Gboard was officially introduced. Google CEO Sundar Pichai took some time to showcase a video where a woman named Tania and her husband Eric put together a system that would allow her to communicate via Morse code. That idea evolved into introducing Morse code into Gboard, which Google has been working on with Tania and Eric for a while now.

Beginning later today, Morse code will be supported in a beta within Gboard. It will be a new text input option for Gboard users, and it will also support suggestions and even text predictions.

What do you think of the new addition?
