Google Says it Won’t Launch Another Pixel Chromebook

Before the Pixel phone made a debut on the market, there was the Pixel laptop. The device served as an example of what a premium Chromebook could look like, despite the fact that most Chromebooks are super cheap laptops.

Google launched the original Pixel lappy in 2013 (which cost a whopping $1,299) and then in 2016 it unleashed the Pixel 2. But even if at some point we saw rumours floating around about a Pixel 3 device, it appears Google has no plans of producing any other Pixel laptops. Not for the time being anyway,

According to Google's senior vice president of hardware, Rick Osterloh who talked to the media during a meeting at the Mobile World Congress, the Pixel name belongs to Google's line of smartphones now.

For now, the company isn't looking to use the Pixel name on any other devices (like laptops) although things might change in the future. Osterloh also mentioned the Pixel and Pixel 2 are currently sold out and Google will not be replenishing the stocks.  Although you might get lucky if you try Amazon or other third-party-seller like that.

It's worth mentioning that although Google is retiring the Pixel laptop, the company is still selling the Pixel C tablet.
