LeEco, a Chinese company looking to expand its reach with a variety of different products other than just smartphones, entered the U.S. market with the Le Pro 3 and Le S3 late last year. One of the interesting elements of both handsets was that, despite Android certainly supporting one, neither came with an app drawer. Now they'll be getting just that, though, along with a plethora of other tweaks and improvements. LeEco says the drawer was added due to "user feedback," and with it, users will be able to access all of their apps like they would from the majority of other Android phones. The drawer will be the place to find newly installed apps as well.
LeEco is moving the Live entertainment app icon to the right of the app drawer icon, and users can move it anywhere else on the home screen if they aren't fond of the new location. In addition to the app drawer, the LeEco-branded Le Pro 3 will be receiving faster capturing and rendering of HDR photos. Meanwhile, the Le S3 owners should see their camera take better photographs in low light situations. Here are the other new additions coming to the handsets: - Enhanced fingerprint sensor so the phone only vibrates once if your fingerprint is not recognized
- Added parental control functions and other improvements to streaming quality of the LE app
- Improved the LIVE apps interface and streaming quality
- Improved Bluetooth reliability and increased WiFi download speeds on the Le S3 when using Bluetooth and WiFi simultaneously
LeEco will be rolling out the software update to all the Le Pro 3 and S3 owners over the next few days. If you own one of these handsets, are you looking forward to the changes? Android Match
