The whole world is waiting for Samsung to launch the Galaxy S8, but if you're not really up for buying a flagship this year, the good news is that the Korean tech giant will bring the Galaxy A5 (2017) in Canada. While we still don't know yet when the phone will become available in the country, an internal document obtained by MobileSyrup reveals the phone will retail for $499.99 in the country. This is the full price, but given that we expect carriers like Bell, Telus and Rogers to pick up and offer the phone too, customers might be able to get it at cheaper rates (with plans attached). The Galaxy A5 (2017) edition is a pretty decent mid-ranger. It comes with a 5.2-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and collects power from Samsung's homegrown Exynos 7880 processor. There's also 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD) onboard of the new phone. The Galaxy A5 (2017) is a great phone for selfie enthusiasts due to its 16MP frontal camera. Up in front we find a 16MP sensor, as well. Other perks include IP68 certification, water and dust resistance and Samsung Pay availability. The phone relies on a 3,000 mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. We assume Samsung will update the phone to Nougat at some point.
