| A couple of days ago, a report said that Samsung was planning to release refurbished Galaxy Note 7 devices in emerging markets such as India and Vietnam. According to that information, Samsung was looking to reduce profit damage as well as mitigate the cost of dumping hundreds of thousands of unusable phones. It's been said in the past that the company has more than two million Galaxy Note 7s left after discontinuing the device, so selling through inventory with refurbished models is one way that the company could avoid extra high costs. However, in a statement to Gadgets360, Samsung India has come forward and said that "The report on Samsung planning to sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphone[s] in India is incorrect." That initial report said Samsung planned to sell refurbished phones beginning in June, so there's still plenty of time for Samsung to decide on the matter one way or another. This isn't the first time refurbished Galaxy Note 7s have been hinted at, so this might not be the last we hear of it. Of course, this is just a Samsung India statement, and only names that country specifically. That would still mean it's possible Samsung is considering to release the phones in Vietnam, if the original report is true. Do you think this is a good idea?
