| Months after originally making its debut, the BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition has made its way to the U.S. The BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition launched at Amazon and Best Buy today. The model that's being sold is GSM unlocked, so it ought to work with AT&T, T-Mobile, and their prepaid subsidiaries like Cricket and MetroPCS.
As we noted last year when the BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition was first announced, there are a few changes between this blacked out KEYone and the standard silver one. The most obvious is the matte black paint job, which gives the phone an all-black design. Inside that matte black body is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, up from 3GB and 32GB on the standard KEYone. The rest of the BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition's spec list is similar to the regular version, which means that it's packing a 4.5-inch 1620×1080 display, 12MP rear and 8MP front cameras, a Snapdragon 625 processor, and a 3,505mAh battery. Rounding out the spec list is a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, NFC, and a fingerprint reader built into the physical keyboard's space button. On the software side, the BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition comes preloaded with Android 7.1. There aren't many smartphones on the market with a physical keyboard, but the KEYone is one of 'em, and this Black Edition looks like a great version of that device. The matte black body looks great, and the bump to 4GB of RAM should help give the phone a bit of a performance boost.
