Earlier this week, Google rolled out the beta for Android 7.1.2, which landed on several different devices including the Nexus 5X from LG. Now it has been discovered that one of the noteworthy features of the Pixel and Pixel XL, "Swipe for notifications," has been added to the Nexus 5X. The feature itself isn't huge by any means, but for anyone who likes the idea of swiping down on the fingerprint sensor on the back of their device to get access to their notification shade, this will make that a possibility.
The discovery of the new feature was a bit of a surprise, considering it has been said in the past that older devices would not be able to support the feature. And while it's possible that Google won't include it in the public launch of Android 7.1.2 later this year, it seems reasonable that Nexus 5X owners in the wild will get the feature seeing as it's available in the beta. As for the Nexus 6P, it's unknown if that particular handset will get the same Swipe for Notifications feature, as Android 7.1.2 wasn't made available for that handset at the same time. If you own a Nexus 5X, are you hoping this feature makes it to the public release? Android Match
