A few days ago we told you Google started rolling out the Android 7.1.2 Nougat beta update for some Pixel and Nexus devices, including the Nexus 5X. Google said that the update would bring a number of bug fixes and optimization, on top of a number of small enhancements for carriers and users. Now, some Nexus 5X users have taken to Reddit to report the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update brings about a nifty little feat called Moves. Moves is a fingerprint gesture that has been available for users of the Pixel and Pixel XL so far. Moves basically allows you to access different features of the phone or control parts of the interface via the fingerprint scanner. There are four Moves in total including Swipe to notifications, Jump to Camera, Flip Camera and Lift to check phone. Since the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P sport the same fingerprint sensor as the two Pixel phones, it was only a matter of time before Google offered the feature on the two Nexus devices. The Nexus 6P is still awaiting its Android 7.1.2 Nougat update which is currently being worked upon, but when the new build arrives it will probably bring Moves with it. Are you excited to try it out on your Nexus phone? [Reddit] The post Nexus 5X Gains New Fingerprint Gestures via Android 7.1.2 Update appeared first on Android in Canada Blog. Android Match
